The widespread use of wood as a building material is due to the large global reserve of forest resources in the Russian Federation. The article considers wood as a traditional, environmentally safe, renewable building material. The development of wooden architecture, as well as previously used construction technologies, are highlighted. The most popular, to date, technologies of manufacturing, construc-tion and erection of low-rise houses from materials on the basis of solid rounded and glued wood are considered. The main profiles of rounded logs, glued beams, their physical, structural and technological advantages and disadvantages are analyzed. The relationship of these building materials with the architecture of modern low-rise individual housing construction is presented. The use of the construction materials considered in the article, technologies in the manufacture, production and construction of solid and glued wood, facilitates the choice of material for the construction of relatively economical, environmentally safe, durable low-rise housing with high thermal, physical, aesthetic properties, quality and durability indicators.
